Scene rewrite
Cole wakes up after being unconscious for hours. It is day light, and his surroundings come into focus. He feels the warm bright sun on his skin, along with what feels like a million mosquitos drilling for blood at the same time. Suddenly he feels something else. He sees a little mouse sitting on his elbow, inching its way towards his open hand. He feels his stomach growl. Eating this small mouse would be like the main course where as the bugs and worms where the appetizer. Time seemed to slow down and stop as he waited for the gray mouse to reach his sweaty hand. Suddenly he felt the tiny feet tickle his palm, and like a venus fly trap, his hand snapped shut.
